- Cook the Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
- Make the Meatballs: In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Form into small meatballs.
- Brown the Meatballs: In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
- Remove and set aside.
- Assemble the Lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Place a layer of noodles, followed by meatballs, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
